About Ethos German Shorthaired Pointers
The name Ethos comes from the Greek word meaning “character” or “guiding ideals.” For us, it represents the foundation of this breeding program and the values we want it to reflect: integrity, purpose, and respect for the heritage of the German Shorthaired Pointer.
At Ethos German Shorthaired Pointers, we are dedicated to producing dogs that stay true to the breed standard and honor the GSP’s original purpose. Each litter is carefully planned with intention, focusing on versatility, instinct, even temperament, and overall soundness. Our goal is to preserve what makes this breed exceptional: a dog that is capable in the field, steady and reliable at home, and a joy to live and work with.
Ethos is about doing things the right way and breeding with purpose, respect, and a deep appreciation for the dogs that make this breed remarkable.
Who We Are
Ethos GSPs is a small, purpose-driven German Shorthaired Pointer breeder located in South Central Pennsylvania. We produce about one carefully planned litter per year, allowing us to focus fully on temperament, structure, health, and natural field ability. Our GSP puppies are raised for hunting, conformation, performance, and active family homes.
All of our dogs live in our home as part of our family, which creates confident, well-socialized puppies with a strong foundation. This home-centered approach supports our mission to raise well-rounded German Shorthaired Pointers that excel in the field and thrive as companions.
Every dog in our breeding program meets the health testing requirements of the GSPCA. We aim to produce dogs that are intelligent, athletic, and structurally correct, with the versatility and steady temperament that define the breed.
